We have been lucky enough to stay there twice and will be returning for a 3rd time this year. The Farm Cottage has been beautifully and tastefully put together. The bathroom has a modern & stylish feel. We love going to Melkhout Guest Farm and are always very sad to leave at the end of our stay. \n\t\t\t\t\t\tI am absolutely in love with one of the nicest campsites that we have recently visited. When staying at Melkhout, you get more than you bargained for. From the start we received a friendly welcome from the lovely owner, plus a basket with fresh products from the farm. The wooden decks overlooking the river, with very neat bathroom and kitchen-sink on the outside, makes camping a breeze. Waking up in the morning with the cry of fish-eagles was the best. Breede river on one side, mountains on the other and in between, cows peacefully grazing. Apart from just relaxing and enjoying the peacefulness, we also did a hiking trail. I recommend this camping site to everyone who loves camping and nature, for this the perfect place to visit. \n\t\t\t\t\t\tUnder tall blue gum trees, with green lawns, on the riverbank, around the campfire is where you become human again. This (and so much more) is what you can expect at Melkhout. We've wonderfully escaped the daily rush to enjoy the tranquillity and calmness of this oasis. The private ablution facilities, ample shade, and a basket of fresh produce were delightful.
